Introductory text
The 1990 successes of the ZX in Rallye Raid motivated new hopes. In its wake, Citroën developed a competition Xsara; the Xsara Kit Car stood out at the 1998 French Championship, the Xsara T4 took over in 2000, but it was the following year, under the name Xsara WRC, that the legend was born!
Directed by Guy Fréquelin, driven by Sébastien Loeb, his co-pilot Daniel Elena and their colleagues, the Xsara WRC won a total of 32 rally victories; 28 for Sébastien Loeb and 2 for Carlos Sainz.
Three years of Championship competing, from 2003 to 2006, brought 3 World Constructors' Champion titles, 3 World Drivers' Champion titles and 3 World Co-pilots Champion titles. A legend was born. Re-imagined the following year as the C4 WRC!
